Prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome among Subjects attending General Health Checkup of a Tertiary Center of Kathmandu, Nepal

Introduction Metabolic syndrome is one of the major concerns modern health causing morbidity and mortality. The metabolic constellation disorders - insulin resistance; obesity, dyslipidemia hypertension that are interrelated which lead to higher risk cardiovascular disease, diabetes, stroke, atherosclerosis serious condition. study focused on prevalence all cases came general checkup (GHC) Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital.
 MethodsThe was a cross-sectional retrospective GHC from July 2019 October 2019. records files patients for their check-up were used obtain data included demographic details criteria syndrome. Waist circumference, weight, height blood investigations sent as routine examination checkup. Data analysis done in Microsoft Excel SPSS 20.
 ResultsAmong 311 enrolled our study, 99 (31.8%) met revised National Cholesterol Education Program, Adult Treatment Panel III (NCEP ATP III) Among those with syndrome, males 52 (52.53%) females 47 (47.47%). Also, 81 (81.81%) out had decreased HDL (<1.03 mmol/L <1.30 females), most common component study.
 ConclusionMetabolic present almost third studied apparently healthy coming it emphasizes awareness regarding screening
